Rowdy Sullivan is a 6th generation Floridian who was raised in the Florida Ag industry. Having grown up on various ranches his family managed, Rowdy developed his love and a keen understanding of Florida’s natural resources. Rowdy has taken his practical knowledge of ranching and applied that to various levels of management throughout his career.
While working on the ranch formerly known as Blue Head, his 66,000 acres in Highlands County, Rowdy gained experience in managing hunting leases by operating a 20,000-acre hunting preserve with an emphasis on hospitality. His role included wildlife management, conducting over 100,000 acres of prescribed burns, exotic species removal/control, facility maintenance and working with the state, local, and federal law enforcement agencies. Rowdy also managed the harvest of timber, sod, aquatic plants, palmetto berries, alligator eggs, and live alligator. In addition, he assisted senior management in the procurement of state and federal easements and forming the newly agreed upon management practice on those lands.
Rowdy worked extensively with Brokers, senior management, and the landowner in showing, marketing, and finally the sale of Blue Head Ranch. Currently, he is an assistant manager of a 31,000-acres ranch that was one part of the original Blue Head Ranch. While bringing a common sense view to an ever-changing industry, Rowdy looks at the future of land use with an open mind and a hunger to forever learn and grow ever aspect of himself and the land he is associated with. Rowdy Sullivan resides in Arcadia, Florida with his wife Erika and three dogs.
